Walter J. Humann
Walt is Chairman & CEO of Virtual First Inc. (VFI), a medical technology Saas company. VFI's software enables medical device manufacturers to provide remote surgical field support before, during and after surgeries with a collaborative communication platform sharing critical information and workflow enhancements optimizing the medical device supply chain between manufacturers' surgical facilities and surgeon practices. Previously, Walt led surgical device manufacturing companies with Pfizer, Stryker and most recently, OsteoMed LLC, a leading, global orthopedic surgical device manufacturing company that Walt grew for 20 years culminating in Berkshire Hathaway's acquisition in late 2020.
Walt is active in various industry, civic, and charitable activities that include Momentous Institute, Salesmanship Club of Dallas, Dallas Assembly, EAC Chair of the Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of Texas at Austin, and former Board Member of the Medical Device Manufacturers Association. Walt received his BBA from the University of Texas at Austin and his MBA from Southern Methodist University.
Walt grew up visiting South Padre Island with his family and continues this tradition with his wife, Suzanne, and their four children. In addition to spending as much time as possible on the Island. Walt enjoys fly fishing, hunting, gold and flying as a private pilot.
